Plantforum’s facilities are made up of 8.5 hectares of land. We have 19 tunnels and a similar amount of nets to grow our seedlings in. Plantforum tries to keep all propagation processes as organic as possible. However, due to the large number of crops that we grow, true organic growing is not always possible.

To this end, we have created our own brand of organic chicken manure as well as our own completely organic compost as we believe that this is the future of seedling propagation. Our manure, Agri Black Gold, is registered with the Department of Agriculture (Reg. No. B 3856).

Plantforum is proud of its close association with the University of Pretoria. UP agricultural students often conduct research at our nursery.

About Plantforum

Sunflower Seedlingseedling in hands

Plantforum is a family owned seedling nursery and is situated in the north eastern side of Pretoria.

Plantforum grows all vegetable, fruit and herb seedlings but specialises in tomatoes and peppers as well as tobacco seedlings for commercial growers. Plantforum is able to grow seedlings throughout the year as we have heated tunnels to allow growth in the winter months. We also grow indigenous shrubs and trees which are becoming more popular. This is because there is a growing awareness of the benefits of planting South Africa’s home-grown flora in the garden.
